Breathing and blinking are the only things that ALS patients can do at the last stage of the disease. The whole body is paralyzed and the mind remains fettered in its own body. This is an unexplored disease. It is not inherited and cannot be predicted or prevented. Patients with this diagnosis are given 3-4 years of life, but there are those who live for twenty years or more.
The film has two characters, two families. The Valkov family found out about the diagnosis a year ago, and they are just starting to live with it. The Shestimerovs have been living with it for twenty years. Two parallel histories help to trace the development of the disease from both a physical and psychological points of view, from disbelief to complete acceptance and gratitude. The film shows the value and importance of life in every moment.
